The Bermuda Monetary Authority

Established under the Bermuda Monetary Authority Act 1969, the BMA supervises, regulates and inspects financial institutions operating in or from within Bermuda and it regulates the Bermuda Stock Exchange.  The BMA issues Bermuda’s national currency; manages exchange control transactions; assists other authorities in Bermuda with the detection and prevention of financial crime; and advises the Government and public bodies on banking and other financial and monetary matters.  In addition, the BMA develops risk-based financial regulations that it applies to the supervision of Bermuda’s banks, trust companies, investment businesses and insurance and reinsurance companies.

Bermuda Laws on Line

Bermuda Laws Online (BLO) is a database of Bermuda’s Acts and Statutory Instruments. It contains both consolidated laws as amended up to 31st March 2008 and annual laws passed by the Bermuda Legislature from 1992.

The Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies

In 1996, Bermuda's insurance industry leaders established BFIS to assist Bermudian students to prepare themselves for a career in the insurance industry.  BFIS provides programs that include significant scholarships, mentoring, career counseling, internships, and assistance with summer and full time job placement.

The Bermuda Insurance Institute

The Bermuda Insurance Institute is a registered charity, funded and controlled by insurance industry members. The Institute facilitates insurance studies and insurance-related studies, especially for those already employed in the industry who wish to further their credentials and understanding of the business, organized discussion of industry matters, and other interaction among industry participants.  BII has been preparing Bermudians for the insurance industry since 1970.

Bermuda International Business Association

Bermuda International Business Association (BIBA) is a business organization of Bermuda based companies which provide quality banking, legal, accounting, financial, e-business, trust and management services and products to international companies and offshore clients. BIBA works with the international business industry and Government to develop and promote Bermuda as the world's pre-eminent offshore business and financial services jurisdiction.

Tall Ships Bermuda – Atlantic Challenge June 2009

From June 11 - 15, 2009, the Tall Ships will be in Hamilton to help celebrate Bermuda's 400 years of permanent settlement.  The "Atlantic Challenge 2009" begins from Vigo, Spain and ends in Belfast, Northern Ireland - a true race around the Atlantic and the first since 2000.  This promises to be a truly unique and memorable event, so plan now to attend and be a part of the festivities!

Bermuda Sloop Foundation and Sail Training for Youth

The Bermuda Sloop Foundation was established to oversee the building of a typical 100 foot Bermuda Sloop to be used primarily to train public and private school aged children in the art of sailing and expose them to learning about sailing and the historical significance that sailing had in Bermuda over many years.
